An important aspect of the 2011 edition was the “really local” aspect of it. DAE Going local 2011 in Portugal consisted of several meetings over 3 days in four cities: Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra and Lisbon. The meetings were very well attended (more than 250 people joined us!), and they provided opportunities of lively interaction, which was very much appreciated by the organizers and participants.

Other than representatives from national authorities, the European Commission met, heard from, and discussed with people from universities, companies, and institutions at a local and regional level involved in various field of ICT: software, health applications, broadband, etc.

Toimivat sisämarkkinat, yhteentoimivat infrat ja rajat ylittävät sähköiset palvelut kuten sähköinen tunnistaminen ovat EU:n tietoyhteiskuntaohjelman, digitaalisen agendan, keskeisiä tavoitteita. Niistä  keskustellaan Helsingissä 20.10 järjestettävässä seminaarissa “In search for interoperable EU-wide infrastructures for e-services”

Seminaariin odotetaan noin sataa osanottajaa, asiantuntijoita ja päättäjiä. Tavoitteena on tunnistaa yhteentoimivuuden esteitä ja miten ne ylitettäisiin. Mitä yhteentoimivuus tarkoittaa, mitä se edellyttää ja miksi avoimuus on niin tärkeää? Seminaarissa puidaan erityisesti sähköistä tunnistamista ja verkkolaskutusta ja otetaan tarkasteluun myös uudet ratkaisut kuten mobiilivarmenteet ja NFC. Sähköinen tunnistaminen on erityisen ajankohtainen aihe, sillä komissio valmistelee juuri asiaa koskevaa uutta lainsäädäntöä. Verkkolaskutuksen osalta Suomi on ollut edelläkävijä, mutta mitä Suomi voisi antaa muulle Euroopalle, jotta alueelle voitaisiin luoda todellinen rajat ylittävä maksuliikenneinfrastruktuuri.

Interoperable ICT systems allow for creativity and competition of ideas. Innovation and more choice and better products for IT consumers are the target. We believe that interoperability-standards are key and the public authorities can play a role in their development and deployment. Therefore Action 23 of the Digital Agenda  proposes to use standards during public procurement of ICT systems.
