Sara holds a Law Degree from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2009) and a MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam (2011) with a specialization in reputation management strategies in the hospital sector. Before joining the Joint Research Centre, Sara was a Trainee Policy Officer at the eHealth and Health Technology Assessment Unit of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), European Commission. During that time, Sara was responsible for the collection of evidence on the effectiveness of eHealth and mHealth solutions and for the identification of the challenges and opportunities of the use of Big Data in public health policy and research which resulted in a report. Before joining the European Commission, Sara was a Behavioural Lab Manager at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she was responsible for co-designing research experiments in decision neuroscience, consumer behaviour and business economics; for lab trainings and for the communication strategy of the lab. Sara is interested in applying behavioural insights and multidisciplinary approaches to policy.
