Response: Any building for the Commission to rent is the responsibility of the Belgian Government. It would therefore have nothing to do with the European Commission or with “European Community officials”.

The Commission has made one sole request to the Belgian Government on this matter; that the Berlaymont or any building that may replace it corresponds to the necessary hygiene and security norms.
