EU to impose meters on all households

Every home in Britain will be forced to install costly water meters under new EU laws, it was revealed last night. Brussels chiefs want water metered at ONE price across Europe.

Homeowners will not be forced to install water meters by Brussels. Policy on water meters is a matter for the UK government – there are no “new EU laws” on compulsory metering, nor will water be charged at the same price across the EU. It is up to each country to decide how water charges should be worked out.
