René’s main area of activity is the application of behavioural insights to EU policy. Over the past five years, he has provided support to behavioural studies across a wide range of policy areas of the European Commission. He has also conducted in-house research in online behaviour and physical activity. Previously at the JRC, he worked as a researcher, policy analyst and team leader in the policy areas of research & innovation and the information society. And prior to joining the JRC, he taught social psychology at the University of Cambridge. He holds a BA (Hons) in economics from Queen’s University, Canada, and an MSc and PhD in social psychology from the London School of Economics.
